NHL players are on track to receive a $100-a-month digital payment card by the end of the year, but some of their biggest players have voiced concerns that it could be too expensive.

On Thursday, the NHL released a video message to fans that highlighted the benefits of the new payment system, and the team said the plan was still being finalized.

“We’ve received positive feedback from our players about the benefits the new technology offers to their game,” the NHL said in the video.

Players can also make payment at participating stores through a variety of digital payment options, including PayPal, credit cards, and a variety more traditional payment methods, such as cash.

With the new card, the league said it will begin offering a new way for players to make payments at participating retailers, including Walmart, Target, Target’s online store, and Best Buy.

The new cards will be available in stores beginning in the summer of 2018.
